We started the Foundation Course with the topic IMG; that is Indian Medical Graduate. We came to
know about the Roles of an IMG like Clinician, Lifelong Learner, Good Leader & Communicator and also
about the Cognitive, Affective and Psychomotor Skills of an IMG. We had a very good chance of Stage
Exposure during the Ice Breaking Session after a long time. On that day we also learnt about our Course
Overview and about the NExT Exam also Prof.Dr.Usha Madam enlightened our knowledge about the
Career Guidelines.
We also learnt the difference between Self Assessment, Reflection and Feedback. We were impressed
by the excellent teaching of Prof.Dr.Dhanasekar Sir and also we learnt how to actively participate in the
group. We also came to know that a Doctor should be a Listener than a Speaker and need to extract as
much as information from a patient.
Every Doctor should be a Team Leader and also give respect to each and every person in the group. We
gained the knowledge that there is a minute difference between Morals and Ethics. The Core Principle in
Ethics are Autonomy, Beneficence, Non-Maleficence, which means every single patient has the Right to
Decide and as a Doctor, we need to do good but no harm.
As a person and also an IMG; we need to manage the Time efficiently. We also got to know about the
Facts, Myths, Spiritual Belief and History of Medicine which was quite an interesting one.

By NMC's New Update Self Directed Learning will elevate our knowledge. Definitely there will be some
ups and downs in our life to overcome it, we need to know how to manage stress - was taught by
Dr.Gautam Babu Sir. A Doctor should be a Good Communicator, so Native Language Skills are very
important.
Cadavers are Our First Teacher and as a Student we need to respect them. We also came to came to
know that, how Informed Consent is important between a Doctor and a Patient. A Doctor should also
have empathy. Apart from the Books and Professors, Patients are the Lifelong Teacher for a Doctor.
They enhance our Wisdom, experience and give a new side about the disease.
A Doctor should know how to maintain a Healthy Interpersonal Relationship. Also he needs to be
socially responsible.
We learnt about how to dispose Medical Waste by using different Coloured Trash Bins. Our
Communication Skills plays a major role at times like delivering a bad news to a patient and how to relax
them, how to make them understand the situation and we need to make complex things to a simpler
words. At times, there might be an emergency where as a Doctor, we must perform a Basic Life Support
like CPR, AED, etc. which was taught by the Department of Anesthesia.

As a Doctor, we need to create awareness among the people, about Disease and Vaccines; and how
important for us to get immunized. Now it’s been legalised that every doctor should document the
things which are happening between the doctor and a patient. In-case if it is not documented, it means
it has not happened in a Clinical setup. The department of Community Medicine taught us how to
extract information from a Community and Prioritize, then accordingly. We also gained information
about National Health Policies; its major concern and challenges.
A Health Care System should be accessible; acceptable and affordable by all common man. It was
surprising to know that from a single human body, 8 sick individuals can have a better life by receiving
transplants with different body parts: was taught by organ donation. We, the young generation should
get our self involved in donating our organs. There is big road after MBBS, where we can shine better.
The next day morning we had Photo Shoot, then the Cultural Event started and it was indelible moment
in many of our lives and thanks for all Participants and Spectators and our hard working Staffs for
making the day wonderful.
