B.sc in
Critical care technology is a four year undergraduate course in which students
learn about theoretical and practical aspects of equipment and machinery used
in intensive care units such as learn electrocardiogram (ECG),
echocardiography, ventilator, computerized treadmill test(TMT), intra aortic
balloon pump (IABP), extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) among others.
Apart from this students learn about operating theatre technology and about
critical care. On completion of the course critical care technicians have good
opportunities in government and private hospitals, private clinics, nursing
homes, public health facilities, clinical laboratories etc. career prospectus.

Our Intensive care unit is highly
specified area in the hospital which is specifically designed, staffed,
located, furnished and equipped, dedicated to management of critically sick
patient, injuries or complications. It is a department with dedicated medical,
nursing and allied staff. It operates with defined policies: protocols and
procedures having its own quality control, education, training and research
programmes.

Biology subject or equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized Boar
of University with minimum 35% marks in each subjects separately including

care units (ICU), Critical cardiac care units( CCU) in hospitals, trauma care centers,
accident medical units and in mobile ICUs around the world.
