Female Infertility - Hormonal Disharmony CME was organized by the Department of Biochemistry, Annapoorana Medical College and Hospitals on 2 nd March 2024. Programme started with a prayer song followed by the welcome address by Dr.S.Ramya, Associate Professor, Department of Biochemistry. The Inaugural address was given by Dean Prof. Dr.B. Usha, followed by a special address by the Medical Superintendent Prof. Dr.P.S. Manoharan and Controller of Examinations Prof. Dr. P.M. Subramaniam, AMCH.  The CME started with the lecture on the topic “Female infertility workup: An Endocrinologist’s perspective” by Dr. Sathian Raghavan. This was followed by a lecture about the “Biochemical Assessment of female infertility” delivered by Dr.Priyadharshini. The last session is on “Clinical challenges in ovulatory infertility” delivered by Dr. Saravanakumar. After completing each lecture topic, a question and answer interactive session was held. It was very informative for both the UG and PG students. All the UG and PG students actively participated in the discussion. Finally the CME was concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Dr.S.Sindu Priya, Associate Professor, Department of Biochemistry.

Department of Community Medicine, Annapoorana Medical College conducted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) in “Food Safety & Food Adulteration” On 26.08.2023

CME program, organised by the General Medicine Department, Annapoorna medical college, and hospital, Salem. Dr Ramaswamy, Head of Department of General Medicine, and his team, organised, and invited speakers, Dr Prakash, Dr Vijayaraju, and Dr Anbalagan, to speak on newer trends in Diabetes, an approach to gestational diabetes, and metabolic complications, and management in Diabetes Mellitus. The speakers experienced, and renowned in their field,of Diabetology, shared their knowledge, and expertise, for the benefit of the participants.

Department of Microbiology, Annapoorana Medical College conducted a Continuing medical Education (CME) “world Antibiotic awareness week” On 21.11.2022. Scientific session started around 10.00 am .The entire programme was Compered by Dr.G.Sasikala, Associate Prof in Microbiology. Session started with Tamil Thai valthu. Welcome address was given by Dr.N.Shanmuga Vadivoo, Prof &HOD of Microbiology followed by Dean Prof. Dr.B.Usha, who addressed the gathering. Medical Superintendent-Dr.N.Mohan, Controller of Examination - Dr. P.M.Subramanian, Director of Academics-Dr.G.Dhanasekar, Deputy Medical superintendent Dr. N. Prasanna Babu, Guest Speakers Dr.M.Malathi, and Dr.S.Venkateswaran graced the Occasion. All the Department HOD’S, Faculties & Students attended the session. Dr. K.Sudha Associate Professor in Microbiology introduced both the Guest Speakers. First speaker was Dr.M.Malathi who spoke on “Antimicrobial Stewardship- What’s the way forward” followed by Dr.Venkateswaran who delivered a lecture on “ADE; No simple answers to simple questions”. Professor Dr.B.Usha the Dean, Prof Dr.Ramasamy–HOD Department of General medicine, Prof Dr.Baranidharan–HOD Department of Paediatrics Chaired both the scientific sessions.

The Department of Community Medicine and the Department of Psychiatry organised a one day program on 11/10/22 to celebrate World Mental Health Day -2022. The theme was ‘ Make Mental Health and Well- Being for All a Global Priority’. The guest speaker was Dr. S. Shankar, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, GMKMCH, Salem. The event focused on student mental health on campus, and included interactive sessions with the students. The day marked the launch of the ‘ MaNaM’ program on campus, a program by the Tamil Nadu government to improve student mental health. Mental Health Ambassadors were nominated from each batch. The aim is to create a culture in our campus where mental health carries no stigma and everyone feels safe to talk about their mental health.

As part of the Tenth International yoga day celebration, the department of Physiology taught yoga for M.B.B.S students daily for 1 hour for 10days beginning from 10.6.24 - 20.6.24. Yoga experts from Shivaraj College of Yoga and Naturopathy, Salem taught various asanas, pranayama and relaxation techniques to the students. The importance of each asana on the body and mind was stressed. Yoga day celebration has been made mandatory in medical colleges by NMC, to enable the medical students to cope with academic stress and pressure. In the end students were advised to incorporate yoga as a daily routine for a healthy and stress free life.

World Diabetes Day - Nov 14, 2023
Theme: Access to Diabetes Care - Empowering Global Health
Annapoorana Medical College students organized an awareness program on World Diabetes Day at the Upgraded Primary Health Care Centre in Magudanchavadi, aiming to raise public understanding of diabetes and promote effective self-care practices.
The program delved into various aspects of diabetes, including its definition, causes, types, symptoms, and long-term complications. Students also provided detailed guidance on self-care management, emphasizing dietary modifications, regular exercise, medication adherence, blood sugar monitoring, and annual eye checkups.
To empower individuals to take charge of their health, the event highlighted the availability of government schemes that support diabetes care, including the Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam scheme and the National Diabetic Control Programme, which provide free medicines, low-cost investigations, and research initiatives.
The program also served as an eye-opener to the public about the comprehensive services available at Annapoorana Medical College Hospitals, showcasing the institution's commitment to providing high-quality diabetes care and management.
The program concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session by the students and participants, allowing participants to clarify their doubts regarding diabetes management and gain a deeper understanding of the condition.
The organizers expressed their sincere gratitude to the PHC staff for their unwavering support and guidance throughout the program.

Celebrated at our Rural Health Center- EKattur Govt PHC today.

The Community Medicine Department of AMCH organised Nutritional Awareness Program to the General Public & Patients attending the OP and highlighted this year theme: ‘Celebrate a world of flavours’.

Phase II MBBS Students and CRMIs have actively participated & given Speech in Tamil on Nutrition, Balanced Diet, Carbohydrate, Protein & Fat. Also they conducted Interactive Quiz to the Public.

30 Students, 8 CRMIs, All Faculty from CM Dept, PHC Staff & around 40 Patients and School Children have took part in the Grand Event.
