The Department of Clinical Skills & Simulation at Annapoorana Medical College and Hospitals is a “Centre of Excellence” conceptualized adhering to the guidelines as laid down by the “National Medical Commission (NMC)”. It is a state of the art learning centre for the undergraduate and postgraduate medical, nursing and paramedical students, as well as the faculty.
The Department of Clinical Skills & Simulation has been established with the state of art facilities that focuses on teaching Health Care Professionals in a safe learning environment with realistic experiences to support effective, efficient and safe patient care.
The fully functional Department of Clinical Skills & Simulation fulfils the need for the implementation of the “Competency based Under Graduate Curriculum for the Indian Medical Graduate “as prescribed by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
The CCSR is equipped with sophisticated adult and Pediatric task trainers, and also full body nursing, trauma & resuscitation mannequins. These help in learning clinical skills, which includes resuscitation in cardiac arrests and poly trauma management. Several invasive procedures can be practiced. Birthing mannequin is an additional teaching tool to train delivery skills and newborn resuscitation.
With increasing difficulty in practicing skills on patients, and with no possibility at all in critical care settings, learning through simulations will go a long way to address this need.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are the Courses offered by our Lab for Providers & Instructors.
Simulation-Based Medical Education (SBME) Simulation means to imitate a situation or process that occurs in real life or a generic term that refers to the artificial representation of a real world process to achieve educational goals via experimental learning.
