Pulmonology (Chest Medicine) Department

The Thoracic Medicine and Tuberculosis department at Annapoorana Medical College and Hospitals was started in 2013.

RNTCP – Revised national TB Control Programme has been implemented in Annapoorana Medical College and Hospital from October 2015 by Deputy Director of Medical and Rural Health Services (TB) of District TB Centre, SALEM. Now RNTCP is renamed as National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP)

  • Under RNTCP (Now NTEP)
  • Since 2016 a total number of 2165 patients were examined for sputum acid fast bacillus since the start of the programme up to III Qtr Of 2020.
  • TB detection camps have been conducted periodically in Salem district.
  • ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES:
  • Clinical Classes are conducted for II and III year MBBS students.
  • Theory classes Pre Final MBBS students & Final MBBS students are handled
  • CME: Continuing Medical Education:
  • CME Programme with Credit Points was conducted on September 2016 and December 2018, Under RNTCP.
