Introduction.

The department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is a branch of medicine which caters to the health needs of women in particular reference to their childbearing and reproductive health.

The department of OBG has been robust in catering to the needs of the population of the surrounding areas as well as from far off districts from the day it started functioning. We provide quality care at affordable costs as well as free Delivery and Caesarean section in accordance with Government Schemes

Faculty

The department of OBG is well equipped with dedicated team of Professors , Associate professors, Assistnt Professors and senior and Junior residents. There are 3 units headed by Professors,  each of them having worked in diverse fields and having a wide knowledge of clinical acumen and experience.

There are 2 assistant professors and / or senior residents  along with Junior residents in each of the units.

Activities and services

The department of OBG is well equipped with state of the art labour suite and High risk pregnancy and delivery units as a single block. To enable smooth transition of care, our neonatal setup also is one of the best in the city with adequate ventilators and Level 2 NICU.

We provide Free delivery as well as Caesarean section, to all our patients as well as provide them financial assistance in collaboration with the Government sponsored “MUTHULAKSMI REDDY” scheme.

We provide free family planning services to reduce higher order births and prevent unwanted pregnancies

We run speciality clinics of our department each day and triage our patients in need of urgent or special care

We have a modern endoscopy unit with latest additions for safe surgery and excellent post operative results. The government scheme has been utilized even by patients coming from places as far as Athur, kallakurichi ,Dharmapuri, Erode, Namakkal and Tiruvannamalai.

Our academic activities have been continuous and excellent, with yearly CME as well as regular prescribed undergraduate teaching as per University standards.

There are regular papers published from the department in indexed journals.

Our faculty are keen in attending national and state conferences as delegates as well as faculty and providers.
