DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SURGERY

The department of general surgery comprises of five units, functioning all seven days of the week. With eminent faculty being the back bone of the department, we are in prime focus to serve the various needs, in the outpatient, in patient or in the emergency room which is covered 24/7.

There is always a drive towards self betterment, and this motive is passed down through every member of the department. The surgical training and skills developed are in par with best standards.

To provide the students a highest quality of education in branches of medicine and to provide a perfect learning experience and atmosphere.

To demonstrate appreciable skill and knowledge and to participate activity in professional growth of self and of the institution and of country’s knowledge base.

To develop team spirit and ability to work along with other health personnels

To provide adequate health care for the patients.

To conduct rural and institutional free camp for health education of economically and socially poor people.

OBJECTIVE:

 INFRASTRUCTURE:

With a total of 750 beds in the hospital , surgery wards comprises of 150 beds , among which 75 is for male patients and 75 for female patients .

State of the art laminar flow OT in par with standards exclusively for general surgery

Minor Ot for small procedures and septic Ot for septic cases including diabetic foot , gangrene etc

Spacious seminar room for students

Department library with extensive collection of all surgical books and journals .

Major OT with facilities for laparoscopy & open surgery

Minor OT and Septic OT for doing minor cases and septic    cases respectively

Full fledged surgical ICU with all facilities in par with     standards

Fully functioning OP with speciality clinics including Urology, Plastic surgery and paediatric surgery                      

Endoscopy and colonoscopy facility

ACADEMIC ACTIVITY:

Daily theory and clinical case discussion for MBBS students.

Seminars and symposium conducted regularly for students

Surgery department also conducts weekly Journal club, Audit & mortality meeting and Surgery – Radiology – Pathology club
